Speed today. 4x(200m @800 pace, 100m jog, 100m build/kick) 3:30 rest in between sets. Splits were 28,16,27,15,28,17,28,16. I was pretty happy about being able to finish the workout and hit all the paces I needed, but it definitely felt harder than I wanted it to. Breathing got pretty tight towards the end, but it didn't get really bad until after the last one. So I'm glad I was able to hold it off for the most part... finished with 30 min on the bike because my quad got really tight during the workout.

no core. Back and hip tightened up really really bad

1 mile, I definitely went back to bike after .5 miles... My back was really tight and my achilles hurt and I quad was tight and I was just super stressed and no bueno. So I biked for 30 min after that.

5 miles, my back only tightened up a little bit so that's a win. Generally I didn't hurt as bad, but I was dead tired. Drained physically and emotionally but made it through 5 miles.

No core, back not allowing it yet.

6 miles at BYU, and we definitely had quite the time catching up to the 2-mile cooldown group... Lol 2 miles of shortcuts and surges trying to catch them. Good times though.

Huge shoutout to Ryan for winning in 9:04 and Zack for 4th with 9:07!!!

I was ambitious in this one. I got out really well and went straight to the lead and through 200 in 27. 400 in 57. Good pacing. 600 I was still in the lead and came through at 1:30, still good pacing. Then... I tried to maintain form but it felt like the last 100 of a 400 where you just die. My form seized up, and that last 200 was a 34 😬. After the race I had one of the worst headaches I've ever had. Threw up twice. Laid down on the grass for a good 45 minutes before I felt good enough to sit up... I guess I just haven't been able to push myself like that for a while because of my breathing, so I guess that's a good thing?... Lol kinda sucked though. That was my fastest time this season, so it's improvement. I'll take it.

Big shoutout to Michael for the big PR and state qualification, 4:21!

1.500.000.000.000.000.000.001.50

Not at all what I wanted the end of my HS career to be. I told myself before the race, "This is it. It's now or never. Finish out strong." I was ready to grind. I was in the second heat, but I was still going to go for the state qualifying time because why not? The race started, I got off the line as hard as I could, but I got boxed in, and bam. Someone fell, so I had a second chance. The race started a second time, and I tried so hard to get out well. But I kid you not, I literally tried to move my legs and they were like "nope." And it took a split second to get off the line. Boxed in. Again. On the back stretch I forced my way out and surged to second place behind Parker. 200m in 31. Smh. Hauled butt right behind Parker and we came through at 60/61. On the back stretch I was trying to push but it just wasn't coming. It's like my legs were telling me "Hey man we're done for the day, sorry." Ugh. I was fighting so hard it just didn't come. Last 200 was really bad. On the back stretch I was screaming at myself, "GO. GO NOW." Nothing.

This year has been a lot of ups and downs. Mostly downs actually. Not a single PR, not even close. I'm looking forward to some much needed easy running and rest.

No cooldown again bc I had to rush to work.

First run in the lunarepics, they feel great! My legs? Not so much. Lol and it probably doesn't help that we went up jail trail and basically died and went to heaven. Except it still hurt idk what's up with that. Just me and Chuck today, nobody else went with us. Aka nobody else wanted to have fun

Just distance, plus I paced Andrew for one of his 800's. I must say I'm very proud of my pacing! He was going for 71's, and we hit 71, 2:22, so quite good if I do say so myself. Also, it felt so easy... so chill. No pressure. Like I could've gone straight into a 2:09 and get a good mile. I guess after state I'll take 2 weeks off and then work my butt off for college xc this fall!

5.300.000.000.000.000.000.005.30

Legitimately one of the funnest/craziest/wildest runs I've ever been on. We started out by simply saying "Hey let's go up jail trail!" Then that turned to "Let's go up to that ridge!" Then, "Let's go to that telephone pole!", Then "Let's get that ridge up there!" (keep in mind that it's crazy steep and we're splitting like 15 min miles and snow is pelting us and my face was numb lol), and finally, "Look! The top is right there! Let's get it!" One last insane climb to the top of traverse. 1700 feet of elevation gain in 2.5 miles. AKA ouch central accompanied by some sick bushwacking. On the way down we were flying. The 5th mile was sub-5 for some of us, on not so stable footing. I split 5:15, and I was taking trying not to die. Haha and you know it's an interesting run when Parker gets a course record for being completely reckless and getting down to 3:35 pace down one of the hills. Glad you're alive Chuck.

10.5 miles on the day and wow it was good. 4 at state cooling down with the 3200 guys, then 6 later after the meet at night. Chuck gave us a sweet run to top off the season. We started at North Lake Park, and continued into one of the most beautiful and eventful runs ever. We were high of fatigue and the thrill of having a good time. We went to a hot pot where we hopped in and it was mighty toasty. The real eventful part was on the way back when it was real dark and we were real hyped. We passed multiple people smoking weed so that was interesting and we got some weird looks. Lol no shirts, short shorts, drenched from the hot pot, we probably looked high ourselves! Wowowowow such a good time. And a great way to end the season on a high note.

Root beer mile today! The first can was quite a shock, and that lap was definitely my slowest. Second can came, I burped quite a bit, but kept it down and chugged through another lap. 3rd can... Lol this is when it started to hit me. I just kept drinking and drinking and halfway through I threw up... What a good time. After throwing up I chugged the rest no problem, and had a pretty quick lap. The 4th can seriously took so long to get down. I think I threw up a second time, haha and after that I guzzled the root beer and sprinted the last lap. Stomach was full and felt like crap but pushed through 😂 about a minute shower than last year, probably all in that last can tbh. Haha good time though.

shoutout to LP for putting it on and for the good time. Also shoutout to Craik for beating Emily in a 200.
