Mile repeats in the pit today, 2 of them, our pace was supposed to be between 5:10 and 5:24. The first one for me was 5:07, then the second one was 5:14. I kind of fell off mentally the second one, so I'll have to make sure I'm staying mentally strong. Then I finished up 7 miles super slow

Easy recovery run today, my legs were super super dead the first half, but kind of woke up as time went on. Average pace was 7:33. Then we had weights (upper body) and I maxed out on the bench at 105 after 10 reps of 65, 8 reps of 85, 6 reps of 95, and 5 reps of 100, so we'll see how sore I am tomorrow!

Shout out to Connor baller for winning the pull-up challenge and Strrt because his birthday was yesterday!

We had 10 90 sec pickups today with 90 sec active rest. The pickups were at 2-mile pace, but I never really knew what pace I was actually doing because I didn't look at my watch... So 1-4 went well, I was towards the front right behind Connor and next to Thomas. The 5th one I fell off a little bit to the back of the pack because it was starting to get difficult. At that point I made the choice to stick with Ryan and Connor in the front and see what happened. 6-10 were really good, but Connor fell back, so it was mainly Ryan and I leading. I was able to stay there until the tenth one where Ryan pulled away a little bit. It was a solid workout!

Late shout out to Coach Rachel because she's having a boy

Another medium mileage distance run, but I took it at recovery pace because for some unknown reason my calves were incredibly tight/sore today... 7 miles at 7:55 avg pace.

Shout out to my dad because I turned 16 today and he gave me a key to his car!

So the original plan was to hike up timp, but Ryan, Austin, and I ended up running up it, waiting at the top for the rest of the group, then we all hiked back down. If you're ever in need of a great hill workout, go run up a mountain. It was fun though! We ran right by a herd of mountain goats, and if you happen to follow me on instagram (@collin__xc), then you would see that we got a selfie with them.

Shout out to the mountain goats for not head-butting us off the mountain, and to that insanely high dude that biked next to Austin at 4:00 am on the way to Strrt's house.

We did the Dream Mile and a Half this fine morning, and it went pretty decently! Connor and Ryan took it easy because of the workload they had last week at the BYU xc camp, and Thom wasn't there. We started off at a good pace, and it was Chris, Michael, and I in a line in the front. Chris slowed down a little bit just after the overpass, and so it was then Michael and I in the front. We came through the mile at 5:36, on pace for an 8:24. Going up Airport Michael fell off a little bit, and I pushed what I could through to the end. I won and ended up with a 8:51, so I obviously slowed quite a bit that last half mile. Next time I'll try to have a more even pace throughout.

Shout out to Connor, Garek, and Ryan for slaying at the byu camp.

Low mileage distance run, we followed main street until we had to turn around, then we came back. We then had an upper body weight workout #getswole which I did after we went to kneaders. Kneaders french toast is pretty much amazing and if you haven't ever had any, you are definitely missing out.

Shout out to Michael for doing the weight workout with me after kneaders!

We had a nice low mileage distance run today, 6 miles at 7:06 avg. The splits were 7:55, 7:35, 7:03, 6:56, 7:04, and 6:03 to finish it off. Austin, Ryan, and I really felt like cruising it in at the end there! It was great!

We then did core, went to Thom's house for some power balls and chocolate milk, and hit up the spring of living waters for an ice bath.

Maddy also joined us for the first couple miles, so shout out to her!

Tempo run today! 3.5 miles between 5:30 and 5:45. We did a 1.5 mile warmup then got going on the tempo.

Jamie had me pace today with Austin as the "wingman", the first mile was 5:43, second mile was 5:40, then we got to the commitment point at 2.5 miles and Thom, Connor, Michael, and Ryan picked it up and took the lead. At that point I was have a pretty hard time holding the pace, my third mile was 5:55 and we came through the 5k around 17:52. The last half mile was pretty rough, 2:57.

My mental game wasn't what it should've been today, but I stayed in the lead and paced the group at least until the commitment point, which is what Jamie wanted me to do.

We then went to the Hinckley's house for some killer french toast, thanks Mama Hinckley!

Oh and shout out to the missionaries who came to breakfast and the sweet elder who was from the Philippines, where I used to live, so another shout out to my homies back in Cebu!

Connor, Thom, Austin, Michael, and I ran the real deal today, which was quite the run to be doing the day after a hard tempo! We also took some sick pictures, so if you're following us on insta you should see some of them soon. Austin, Michael, and I turned back after 4 miles because we had 8 today, where Thom and Connor had 12.

Michael was a dingus and left his keys up the canyon, he didn't figure that one out till we got back to Thom's house. Then we had choco milk and pretzels with some killer hummus!

Shout out to Candace Hill for being a frickin fast sprinter.

6x600m at the cemetery at 5k pace. The splits were 2:00, 1:55, 1:54, 1:56, 1:56, and 1:49. I need to be more focused on the team, staying on pace, and not racing the last one like I kind of did today. It was still a good workout and I felt solid. All the guys only going 6 today were a little over mileage so we went straight back to the school. Then we did core.

Shout out to Jackie for running practice Monday and today because Jamie and Rachel aren't here.

It was the first day of camp today, and the run was pretty crazy! We started at tibblefork and ran up the dirt road towards silver lake. The first 3 miles were all uphill so that was pretty killer then the 4th one was mostly flat, but it was definitely a party on the way back.

Then we hung out at tibblefork while Connor and Thom took 10 billion years to finish their miles. We hit up the SOLW when we got home.

Shout out to Papa Heaps because he turned 43 today and spoke to us about pack running up at tibblefork.

2nd day of camp today, we ran on a trail up Provo canyon and it was just rolling hills so we got some good speed on the downhills and we were able to really power up the uphills.

After we turned around it was Ryan, Michael, Austin, and I in a group, and miles 5-8 were negative splits. 6:49, 6:43, 6:16, and 5:39. It felt great!

Then we went to reservoir and hung it there a while, then we went home and went to the SOLW.

Sting pong at the Hinkley's.

Shout out to Brad for being so frickin good at sting pong and giving me some good welts...

It was the last day of camp today, and I may or may not have shed tears. 10 miles on some trails up suncrest at 8:10 avg pace. The first 5 were flat/downhill and the last 5 were flat/uphill. Kinda brutal but satisfying in a sick twisted way.

Shout out to Dylan's parents for making it possible to swim in the clubhouse pool after our run and to all the coaches/parents who made these past 3 days amazing.

After the swim we went to the SOLW and the Hinckley's for some sick sting pong, and I ended up slamming my toe into a wall and it was bleeding everywhere so that was slightly painful and that toenail will be gone in the very near future.

Then we had a sweet team party at Thom's house to watch the camp slideshow and ball it up and such.

Happy 16th birthday shout out to Alli Peterson!
