I went a little further today, so shout out to me and my foot because it feels good! We did premeet for the CA classic tomorrow on the track and finished miles. Shout out to Ryan because he's an awesome guy and none of us want to leave him next year, but we did what we felt was best. #sameteamdifferentjerseys

We warmed up, and got ready to start the first ever CBC.

It was freaking cold and we were standing around for about 15 minutes before we actually started the race because Asa and Josh couldn't figure out how to work the sound system so we couldn't have their lit tunes going through our heads during the race, but it was ok.

We started out, and Michael paced the first couple laps, and Ryan paced the next couple. We were going single file to reduce the effect of the wind on the back stretch. I was right behind Christian Allen from Copper Hills for the first mile, and we came through at 5:11. Connor then took the lead and picked it up quite a bit. The first mile was on pace for me, so I let them go, deciding to run on my own from then on. It was a weird situation because I knew I needed to pick up the pace for most of the laps after that, but I just didn't do it. I felt like I was going a little faster, but my split every lap either stayed the same or got slower, so that was no bueno. I finished with a time of 17:08, which has been my slowest 5k this year, the same time I got at Bob Firman last year. I'll work on staying strong and pushing myself more during those middle and last reps in the workouts between now and NXR and I need to stop overanalyzing everything in the middle of the race and just run, and just run fast.

Shout out to the girls team, David, Mickinley, my mom, my brothers, and the other parents who came to watch and support, it was a party!

Also, shout out to Asa because he Pr'd by like 29 seconds, so that's sick!

I went a whole 5 miles today, and it felt pretty great! My calves are freaking wrecked from yesterday, but other than that, my legs are fine, just showing how much I really didn't push it yesterday. Like my legs really aren't tired. I'll murder them at NXR.

I headed over to Utah Run after practice and bought myself a pair of Hoka Cliftons. I'm pumped to run in them because they feel fantastic.

Shout out to Kobe because he turned back with me and we got some good talk about shoes and form and stuff. He also got some New Balance Zante's today, so that's cool!

First run in the Cliftons today, and man do those shoes feel amazing!!! We did a smallish ladder workout on airport, 3 sets of 100m, 200m, and 300m. I felt really good and it was great! After that we went to the volleyball game at UVU so that was sick.

5 more miles in the chokas today, and it was pretty fun! We did premeet at the grovel just for tempo pace, so it wasn't crazy fast, but it was kinda hard to find the pace. coming back, Kobe and I were hauling over the overpass, it felt great. Shoutout to Alexis because she got a blog!

Before I start, I'll let you all know that I'm probably switching to running2win.com so y'all can get on there.

This is the day. We woke up at 7:30 so we could have time to eat breakfast and get everything together before we left at 8:30. For breakfast I had some killer quaker instant oatmeal bc oatmeal is the best. The bus ride to the race was pretty short because the hotel was pretty close so that was nice.

When we got there we saw the end of the girls D1 race, and Guppy won so shout out to her. The other girls came in a pretty great pack so they ended up taking 4th.

We then warmed up. We went a mile and my legs felt primed and ready to go.
