Dream Maker today, my achilles has felt decent the past couple days so I thought I'd through some speed at it and see what happens. We started out at a good pace and I was staying mentally tough. Half-mile in I surged to the lead and started pushing a little more. Last time I made this move I was able to hold it somewhat and Connor and Ryan were the only ones who passed me. This time was a little different. There was a major headwind, so leading was definitely not fun, and fatigue was coming fast because I haven't gotten much sleep for the past week. So here I was, leading a group of Connor, Ryan, Thomas, and I. A little before a mile in I lost them and was on my own. First mile was 5:32. My legs felt like lead going up that last hill and the wind didn't make it any easier. Austin caught me at the base of airport and he had a little bit of a gap on me so we were both fighting the wind individually. I should've stuck with him then to get some major drafting going. But I caught him again at the top of the hill and I thought I was home free on the last stretch, but no, here comes Austin on my shoulder so I sprinted my little heart out into the wind and I think I might've edged him out at the line but it was close. Time was 9:06, 26 seconds off my PR. Up until this point my achilles felt great, no pain. About .25 into the cool down it seized up big time. It was a painful trip back to the school. So, I see biking and swimming in my future for the next 5 days. Great effort from everyone today. I freaking love my team.

I rolled a bike out to the turf so I could do the workout with the team. The workout was 5x500m at 800m pace with 6 min rest. According to Jamie, if you're running your true 800 pace then this workout is physically impossible, so you just gotta hang on as long as possible and then a little more. I did it all with them, just on the bike instead. I was able to stay pretty mentally strong for the most part but it's tough on the bike. I just know I pushed myself because I couldn't see super well after the last one, I had a pounding headache, and I was a little dizzy haha. So I laid on the turf for a little bit till the pain went away. I'm just glad I was able to push myself so hard on the bike. It's hard though because I always wonder if what I'm doing is enough. Oh well. Injuries suck. Gotta get over it. Much love for the team.

Swimming with Sami and Riley during lunch, then the temple with them plus Guppy and Watson, then roxberry with the same! I could definitely tell my body was more or less wrecked during the swim but that's a good thing for this week. Twas a good day.

We had the 20x400m workout today. It's in sets of 5, the first five at 5k pace, then 2 mile, then mile, then what whatever you got left for the last five. 45 sec rest for the first set, then 60 sec, then 90 sec, and 2 min for the last one. Jamie had me do the first and last set on the bike on the turf, so I ran the middle sets. Splits were 69,69,73,71,71,68,67,68,66,67. While I was running, at first I tried to stick with Michael, Austin, and Thom, and that worked pretty well, and I started to feel more fresh as I kept going, which was weird but fantastic. I could tell my body was completely thrashed from the tough workouts this week and not as much sleep as I should be getting. Then the second set I ran I decided to stick right with Connor and Ryan and that worked pretty well, and I was able to stick with them. Then the last set on the bike I freaking killed my body. The achilles felt fantastic the whole time so that was great! Shoutout to Ryan for rollingg me out afterwards. Huge confidence builder today. Great stuff from everybody!
