Oh the joy of death. It bekons like your awkward aunt who you look forward to seeing but once you visit you have had your fill for a while. Until those visits start to grow on you and you start to look forward to the tangible awkwardness and uncomfortable atmosphere conjured by never-ending small talk. Oh, did I say death? I meant speed. Particularly 1000 repeats followed by fast 400's. What a coincidence, that's what we did today! Lol the workout was 5 1000's at goal pace for NXR (just under 5) and 3 400's, the first one being at mile pace and dropping 2 seconds every lap. Rest was 3 min between teh 1000's and 2 min between the 400's. I decided to just put myself out there and run with Michael and see what I could do since this was my first speed workout with the team since summer. My splits were 3:06,3:03,3:08,3:10,3:09,68,68,65. The first two I hung with Mike pretty good but from then on I dropped off a bit. I was hurting. Nevertheless I pushed through! From there I was able to stick with Chuck for the most part. He's a good guy. My apologies to him. He knows why lol. I kept right on pace for the 1000's, except the 4th one was 5:03 pace... big whoop. When the 400's came I was about ready to collapse and die on the track. Idk how I did those. I'm glad I was able to drop time the last one, that was tough. Shoutout to the team because I love them and I'm pumped for NXR.
