We did the Dream Mile and a Half today, and it was pretty good. From the start I could tell my legs were pretty tired, both from camp last week and not eating very much yesterday. We started out at a solid pace, I just tried to settle in next to Thom. So Ryan was in the front, then me and Thom, then I think Michael and Austin. We came through the mile at 5:35, and I tossed in a surge because the pace was getting a little slow. Thom surged with me so that was good. At the base of airport Thom settled in behind me and I felt strong to just power up the hill and it wasn't too bad. I ended up 2nd behind Ryan (or I guess technically 3rd behind Connor, but he did it after us because he woke up late) with an 8:40. I matched my PR, so I'll take it considering everything last week. Then Ryan, Kobe and I went to the Heaps for a drink and Ryan looked like he was about to faint and I think his blood sugar was low so we made him drink some chocolate milk and he was able to finish out the miles.

Shout out to Mama Heaps for letting us get water and blackberries and such.

Medium Mileage recovery run today, 7 miles at 7:36 avg. It was a good run! Afterwards we had a lower body weight workout.

Some dummy working for the city turned off the SOLW so we weren't able to ice bath there today.

Shout out to Thom for letting us come over to make protein shakes and eat blackberries!

We went down to segolilly for some pickups on the grass today, Ryan, a couple other guys, and I just did 3 of them because we are doing the team race tomorrow. They felt good, but my legs were pretty wrecked from doing weights yesterday.

Shout out to Ryan for letting us come over for ping pong after practice today

AM: Ryan, Chris, Strrt, Sam, Garret, Big T, and I all raced the team race today because we won't be there next Wednesday when the rest of the team does it.

The first mile was 5:15, a little fast, but solid. The second mile was 5:32, and because I was being dumb at the time I let Ryan gap me a little bit, so I was going alone, which made it harder. The last .89 was really weird, and the time for that was 5:20. In the last .89 I almost totally went the wrong way but luckily Jamie was walking right there so she told me where to go, then I missed an extra little loop because I didn't see the arrows on the ground, thus it being .89, not a mile. Ryan also took a wrong turn, but a different one than I did, so his distance was a little weird as well.

I ended up finishing with way too much energy for it being a race. It felt more like I was finishing a tempo rather than a race. I'm sure when I'm running in the pack and there are actually people around me I will be able to pace it better and push myself a little more, but from a workout standpoint, today was good.

PM: 4.32 mile night run with the guys and Justus and Hank. Shout out to them for running with us!

8 mi at 7:32 avg with Sean, Strrt, Ryan, Big T, and Nathan joined us halfway through. My legs were definitely super tired, but it was a good run.

Shout out to Strrt and Sean because today was the last time I will see either one of them for probably close to 4 years. Hopefully Sean visits every once and a while.
