So I pretty much felt like crap today. We did whistle hills, and by the end of the third set I couldn't really feel my legs, my head was pounding, and my vision was going weird. I told Jamie and she told me to just head back to the school and call it good for the day. The run back kinda sucked, but I survived so that's good. Oh Jamie also told me to start counting my calories to make sure I'm getting enough. We'll see how that goes.

Alright, just so y'all know, food is good for you. So I downloaded this app called fatsecret to count my calories and stay on top of things, and based on my activity level and age and weight and all that stuff, it said I need 3700 calories every day. Thinking about it, I've been getting closer to 2500. So I actually ate enough yesterday after my fail of a workout, and today was freaking fantastic.

First we did a mile of speed changes on the track, just to make our legs a little tired. Then we did the dream mile and a half. I felt really good from the start. From the beginning I started pushing the pace, and by a half mile in, I was decisively in the lead, constantly pushing because I felt like I could. We came through the mile in 5:35, where I was still leading. At that point, Connor and Ryan picked it up, and I did my best to stick with them. I ended up finishing third after Ryan and Connor with a time of 8:31 and a 9 second PR.

I was very happy with today and I am looking forward to a half season filled with food and fast times. #thumbsup

We had a nice easy distance run today, the only one of the week! I can tell my legs are tired but not overly tired so that's good.

Shout out to Mama Heaps for letting Connor and I come over during lunch and another shout out to me for gaining 6 pounds the past couple days!

Connor, Thom, Michael, Austin, Kobe, and I drove up to the state course to do the mile repeats today, and to put it simply my legs are thrashed. My splits were roughly 5:22, 5:19, 5:36, 5:36, and 5:38. After the second one my legs felt like dead weights. My breathing and everything else was fine, there was just major fatigue in the legs. It's supposed to be like that though, it's awesome week! Shout out to Jamie for being the best coach ever and giving us frickin hard workouts!

SOLW afterwards

It was the last workout of awesome week today, and indeed it was awesome. The workout was 6x1000m at 5k pace with 200m jog, then straight into a 200m sprint. After the sprint we got 3 minutes of rest. The 1000s were 3:06, 3:15, 3:11, 3:12, 3:12, and 3:16. The 200s were 28, 30, 28, 31, 29, and 26 on the last one. After the second 1000 I started to fall off the pack again but I was able to break that mental barrier and stick with them, staying on pace.

It was definitely a hard workout, but a really good one, I kinda liked the format of it. After a .5 mile cool down we went to the SOLW.
