Super chill 8 miles today, Austin had to stop to stretch when we were going over the overpass, so Kobe and I waited and then the 3 of us went to the cemetery to do a barefoot mile, and then the other guys showed up, so we went to the spring because it felt like we were running on the freaking sun. After we hopped in the spring we just finished our miles and sat around talking to Jamie for a while.

Shout out to David from Utah Run for not listening to my voicemail I left him because I forgot my phone number and botched the whole darn message. Also shout out to him for having me in for an interview today!

After School: 4 mi with Connor, Michael, and Austin. We did one outside then 3 on the treadmills because it was so hot. However, kudos to the PV kids for running in that heat, you guys are freaking insane. 95 degrees makes me want to die.

PM: Westlake duel meet, we took it as a great opportunity for a tempo run and we just had a blast. It's a 2 mile course (roughly), and I finished in 10:46. We came through the mile at 5:43, super chill, then we picked it up a bit because that's what Jamie wanted us to do. My watch said the last .94 was in 5:03 but at 5:23 pace which makes sense and was right where we wanted to be. That run was so freaking fun. I need to approach my races with a better atitude because how I did today, not actually racing, is a great sign for this weekend at the grass relays.

SOLW after we got back because we have 800's tomorrow, and shout out to Sami for getting dunked by Thom 3 times... just for the record I only cheered for one time... but way to take initiative Thom!

Race: AF Grass Relays (2 Miles) 00:11:05

AF Grass relays was today, and tbh I kinda sucked. Just to put things into perspective, I ran a 10:46 two mile tempo workout on Tuesday, and held a 5:10 pace for 8 800's on Wednesday, then got an 11:05 today.

My first mile was 5:14, then my second mile was 5:48. I didn't think I was going slower the second mile, but apparently I was.

I'm definitely not happy with today, but everyone has off days and my legs were just roasted. The best thing I can do with this race is to learn from it and do better at BYU. I've noticed that my workouts have been going really well lately with regards to how I'm feeling and pacing and such, but it isn't translating to my races. I'll talk to Jamie about it on Monday to see what I can change, but until then I just need to not beat myself up over it.

Shout out to Utah Run for hiring me and being the sickest place ever to work. Another shout out to Brady Taylor for coming and supporting the team today and to my boys who raced with me today!
