Today we had a very very difficult hill ladder workout. We did 3 sets of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, all at 5k pace, up airport hill. The only rest we got was jogging back down to the bottom. When we finished the first set, I knew I was in for a rough time. By the middle of the second set my legs were really feeling it and on the jog down after the 300 I had a major side stitch and I started hyperventilating a little bit, and a few tears may or may not have been shed.

The third set for me was pretty much all guts. Starting the workout I was honestly debating whether or not I would be able to finish. The last 400 and 500 up that hill I gave everything I had and Connor and I sprinted out the last 50 meters.

It hurt like heck, but that was the goal. Shout out to Spencer for helping me get into a better state of mind after the second set. Also shout out to pain, because it became my friend today.

10 miles in my new brooks launches today. They were fairly used, so I got them for free! My legs are freaking dead after yesterday, but it was a good run, SOLW afterwards.

Warmed up 2 miles, then did the 6 minute test. We decided that we would switch off pacing every lap, hoping to hit 70's. I paced the first lap in a 70, then Connor took over, bringing us to 2:25, then Ryan took over, bringing us to 3:40ish. We came through the mile in about 4:51, then we (Ryan, Connor, Thom, and I) picked it up and started kicking. I made it 5 laps and 20 meters, after Ryan, Connor, and Thom. Pacing per lap was an amazing idea! It made it so much easier!

PM: 4:75 miles after work because I didn't have enough time to get all the miles in at practice. Shout out to Joe for going to Costa Vida with me after work because we got free entre coupons!

I'll say it from the start, this course is a beast. Warmed up 1.5 miles, then started the race. The start was literally horrible and I got crazily boxed in. I had to do some serious weaving to get into even a decent position. I was hoping to try and stay with Thom today, but I wasn't ever able to make it up to him. The first mile wasn't fast at all, my watch said 6:11. The second mile was some good downhill, 5:43. The last mile included the ever famous mutha cussa, which I made up without walking, then the gradual uphill after that absolutely murdered me. Around 7:15 pace on that part and there was nothing I could've done about it #dontjudge. That one was like a 6:25 mile. The combination of downhill, then the mutha cussa, then the gradual uphill makes for one insane course, so kudos to herriman.

I've had a cold for the past couple days so that didn't help, and I need to change something when it comes to races. I can do awesome in workouts, but come race day, I can't deliver. I'm definitely going to see what I can do about that.

Shout out to Kobe and Guppy, who both got 4th in their races, and to us for getting 2nd.

I dragged myself across 6 miles today, to be honest I felt like crap. I can tell I'm getting more sick, hopefully it goes away soon.
